Impacts from Winter Storm Blair stretch across much of the Eastern half of the United States as of Monday morning. Many areas from Missouri to Maryland and New Jersey are seeing or forecast to see major snow and ice accumulation. Road closures and power outages are already ongoing in the storm’s path and can be expected to continue as the storm moves over the East Coast.  Expect some closures to occur at shipping and receiving facilities and transportation terminals.

TRUCKLOAD
Road conditions are expected to cause traffic delays throughout the region as ice build ups and sleet and snow accumulation increase. There may be some temporary capacity constraints in the hardest hit areas.

LTL (LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD)
Limited service and delays will include both inbound and outbound freight for the impacted region. This disruption in service could cause delays through the week and could have impacts into next week as terminals catch up.

INTERMODAL
Rail terminals are expected to remain open. Intermodal shipments may still see some delay due to impacts on trucks handling first and last mile moves.

AIR
Cargo coming into major airports across the Northeast could be delayed.
