C.H. Robinson is hiring a Senior Supply Chain Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Supply Chain Engineer, you'll design solutions and develop capabilities that support the strategic vision of both C.H. Robinson and our customers. You’ll work on continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across the supply chain—including sourcing, transportation, network layout, inventory, facility layout, order management, warehousing, and material flow. In this role, you’ll also take the lead in measuring and auditing logistics-related carbon emissions and support customer projects involving data mapping and systems integration.
Your key responsibilities will include gathering and cleansing data, conducting trend analysis, solving complex problems, designing solutions, documenting processes, and clearly communicating with stakeholders. You'll also develop financial baselines and calculate savings, all while championing enterprise-level and supply chain strategies. In many cases, you’ll lead project teams working on high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives.
This is a hybrid position, with in-office presence required 3 days a week at our office in Chicago, IL.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze historical and forecasted data to generate summaries, baselines, and cost improvement opportunities
Develop complex solutions and recommendations for customer issues or opportunities using technical expertise and sound judgment
Work independently to implement customer solutions, including documenting procedures, delivering training, and resolving operational issues
Manage project teams responsible for defining scope, developing project plans, tracking activities, reporting on progress, and measuring results
Align and communicate with customers or internal stakeholders to gather requirements, capture the voice of the customer, and define scope, deliverables, and project milestones
Create and deliver clear project updates and summaries for both internal and external audiences
Receive coaching, guidance, and feedback from your manager to grow leadership capabilities
Contribute to departmental strategy and continuous improvement through capability development and knowledge sharing
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned, based on team or country-specific requirements
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including graphs, charts, formulas, functions, macros, VBA, Solver, and regression analysis
Experience using data visualization and analytical tools
Ability to travel at least 10% (domestically and internationally)
Preferred:
Ability to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in supply chain data to generate insights and recommendations, and coach others in doing the same
Understanding of carbon emissions calculation methodologies and/or logistics sustainability practices
Experience with or understanding of data integration, data mapping, and data management initiatives
Familiarity with carbon emissions calculation tools such as EcotransIT
Strong delegation, organization, and task management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and business goals
Understanding of end-to-end supply chain functions and relationships
Advocate for lean processes and continuous improvement

Compensation Range
$79,800.00 - $124,300.00The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
