White House Announces Exclusions for Certain Electronics

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a notice on April 11, 2025, that certain electronics will be excluded from the reciprocal tariffs as per Executive Order April 11, 2025 Presidential Memorandum “Clarification of Exceptions Under Executive Order 14257 of April 2, 2025, as amended” (the Memorandum). Certain smart phones, computers and other items are being added to the exemption list and will not be subject to the additional duties if entered on or after April 5, 2025. 

Tariff numbers that will be exempt under tariff 9903.01.32 are:

 • 8473.30  • 8541.10.00  • 8541.49.95
 • 8486  • 8541.21.00  • 8541.51.00
 • 8517.13.00  • 8541.29.00  • 8541.59.00
 • 8517.62.00 • 8541.30.00   • 8541.90.00
 • 8523.51.00  • 8541.49.10  • 8542
 • 8524  • 8541.49.70  

CBP announced that any impacted entries should be corrected prior to duties being paid or a post-summary correction will need to be submitted to receive a refund.
